This diary lists legal holidays by state. Vermont’s were: Jan.1, Feb. 22, May 30, July 4, Aug. 16, Thanksgiving, and Dec. 25.

Most of this diary recorded Leon’s everyday occurrences, such as ‘Sawed wood”, “pleasant”, “rainy”.

John picked up a load of ashes.

Pleasant. Helped John up to the top of the rabbit track.

Pleasant, been splitting wood.
Uncle Loren called here.
John went to Brookfield.

Worked for Fred 6 hours.

Drew straw from Leslie’s.

Chopped for Fred 8 hours.

Worked for Fred today skidding logs.
